Advanced Tracking, a specialist in the geo-location of boats, is now offering a service which, in case of distress, allows the rescue services throughout the world to be activated 24h/24, thanks to a partnership with Geos. It is an organisation which receives all the distress signals sent to it and activates the rescue services in the sector concerned, working in close collaboration with rescue organisations throughout the world, such as the CROSS or the Coastguard.
In concrete terms, all you have to do is press the emergency button on your beacon and the chain of emergency services will be set in motion, as the boat’s position is automatically sent via the Inmarsat satellite network. The subscription (excluding the beacon) costs 29 euros per month and in addition allows geo-location of the boat and reception of weather forecasts.
