THE MULTIHULL BOAT SHOW: The 4th edition is on track

One year in the Atlantic (at Lorient), the next in the Mediterranean (at La Grande Motte): this was, at the start of this adventure, the wish of the organisers of the multihull boat shows. A wish which comes from the desire to offer all the builders, wherever they are in the world, the possibility of coming to exhibit their boats.
Because although from the first year, foreign builders were present, the multihull boat shows are continuing to become more international. To such a point that the organisers have even been seen at the boat shows in Cape Town in South Africa and Shenzhen, in China, and returned from them with good news concerning the presence of new builders from the other side of the world at the coming editions...

La Grande Motte 2013
As this edition of Multihulls World goes to press, the good news about the next show continues: we should therefore be seeing the Lagoon 52 for the first time in Europe, and perhaps even the major new boat, the Lagoon 39, but nothing is yet official. The same goes for the new Cumberland 47 from Fountaine Pajot, as well as the Leopard 48, the builder's major new boat, seen for the first time at Annapolis. There will be the world premiere for the C329, the aluminium trimaran built in Tunisia, and a Mediterranean premiere for the Bamba 50.
As locals, we will of course have the Outremer range, as well as the new catamarans from Catana. The Nautitech 542 will certainly be there, as will the new version of the 442 from the same builder...  The presence of the brand new Nautitech 482 remains in the air for the moment... Another new boat will be present, the Ocean Voyager 53, which will offer outings during the show.
Finally the Tag 60 will also be present: a boat which alone justifies the visit!
In total, the organisers are counting on around sixty boats afloat and a real exhibitors' village with, in addition, the Multihulls World stand, equipment manufacturers, insurers, architects, etc.

We put the title on the line
At Lorient, last year, the organisers had the excellent idea of organising a regatta between exhibitors in Multi 23s. The storm blowing on the coasts of Brittany meant that many of the professionals were less enthusiastic, and the Multihulls World crew easily and brilliantly beat everything on the water that day...
We are therefore putting our title on the line this year: let those who dare come and pit themselves against our crew, but note that the Mediterranean is our front garden, and we will have no mercy!

And the celebrations...
The multihull boat shows are the opportunity to see the maximum number of catamarans and trimarans, more than anywhere else in the world. The ideal moment to choose your next boat in the best possible conditions. But that's not all, as each year, the organisers present us with new activities. Paddle board two years ago, Multi 23 racing last year, and this year there will be an event on the theme of Tahiti. Beware, you could return from the show tattooed from head to toe...

We will of course tell you more in the coming editions of Multihulls World, and on our web site.

Practical boat show

We will be meeting up at La Grande Motte, from 10th to 14th April 2013, from 10am to 7pm. Entry will again cost 6 euros, and is free for under-12s.
To get there, nothing is simpler: Montpellier airport and railway station are just a few kilometres away. Marseille airport is 130 km away. And to spend the night, there is a plethora of hotels: it is a holiday resort, and you will be spoiled for choice (www.lagrandemotte-tourisme.com).
