The adventures of Yvan Bourgnon, singlehanded around the world
Yvan is continuing his incredible solo adventure around the world on a sport catamaran.
After leaving from France, the duo became a singlehander, and Yvan crossed the Atlantic alone, then after a stopover in Martinique, carried on to Panama, through the Canal, and finally arrived in the Galapagos. The major part of a round the world trip is always the Pacific, which is so poorly named. Yvan left the Galapagos for the Marquesas, then the Tuamotus, and finally Tahiti, where he met up with his brother Laurent again.
At the end of April, the sailor-adventurer set off from French Polynesia again for Fiji – a crossing of some 1,670 miles.
If all goes well, he will then head for Bali, the Maldives, Djibouti and sail up the Red Sea to finally pass through the Suez Canal, the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and return to his departure point in Les Sables d’Olonne, which he left on 5th October 2013...
