Leopard Catamarans at the Miami Boat Show 2015
At this year’s Miami Show, Leopard is exhibiting no fewer than five catamarans, two of which are a world premiere…
Leopard 40 Catamaran - World-premiereThe brand new Leopard has the difficult task of replacing the successful and much-appreciated Leopard 39 in the range.
Designed by the architects Simonis and Voogd, the new Leopard 40 is along the same lines as the new range of 44 and 48s, with notably a completely revised interior, a very modern design and a forward cockpit accessible from the interior. In addition to simplifying the movements of the passengers aboard, this forward facing opening guarantees excellent ventilation in tropical climates.
Just like the whole of the Leopard range, the new 40 will be available in a specific version for the charter company Moorings, under the name Moorings 4000, and we should very quickly be able to sail aboard it from most of the company’s bases, in the months to come.
Leopard 51 PC Catamaran - World-premiereThe Leopard 51 PowerCat demonstrates, if it were necessary, that the South African builder really believes in the development of the motor catamaran. The 51 was designed by the architects Simonis and Voogd, and again uses Leopard’s now traditional forward cockpit, with direct access from the interior salon, and is of course equipped with a flybridge, essential on this type of boat.
With 2 x 375 hp as an option, the Leopard has a top speed of 25 knots, but is above all capable of keeping up an average of 20 knots when cruising.
Leopard 44 CatamaranThe Leopard 44 was the first catamaran in the South African builder’s range to feature the forward cockpit, accessible from the boat’s interior. A real ‘plus’ at anchor for accessibility and the boat’s ventilation. Since then, the idea has spread (to the 48 and 58), and we have to admit that this new arrangement is particularly pleasant to live with.
The Leopard 44 is a coherently-designed boat which will genuinely allow a family to live aboard.
Leopard 48 CatamaranFollowing the success met by the latest boat in the Leopard range (the 51 PC), the builder has decided to revise its very recent 48-footer. We therefore find on the new Leopard 48 the range’s new interior design, which is much brighter and whose modern, refined style gives an even greater impression of space. As for the rest, the 48 of course retains its superb forward cockpit, accessible from inside the salon, and its well-known qualities...
Leopard 58 CatamaranThis Leopard 58’s undeniable ‘plus’ is the possibility of defining your accommodation plan yourself, from the classic or innovative solutions available. The Leopard 58 is therefore available in versions of from 3 to 6 cabins. Under sail, the flagship of the Leopard fleet proves to be reactive, especially if you don’t hesitate to use its nice sail wardrobe (code 0, gennaker or asymmetric spinnaker) to keep it moving in light weather.
