New from Outremer
Brains are working hard at the moment at Outremer Yachting catamaran builder.
The brand-new Outremer 45 has only just been launched, but the builder is already thinking about the future. And the future promises to be big, very big even.
5X Phase II: This is the code name under which the new 5X is being designed, both at the company’s R & D departments and in the VPLP architects office, which is at the origin of this (very) fast catamaran. The idea is to keep the ‘last word’ features of this fast cruising catamaran, but allow a couple to handle the catamaran power as easily as possible, and maneuver it easily. The Evolution version currently being studied is therefore an ‘Easy Sailing’ version, with a revised deck plan. For example, it will no longer be necessary to climb onto the coachroof when sailing, and the centralizing of the control lines has been optimized, as has the use of a remote control to make life simpler. Finally, the builder is working on a new deck saloon forward, to be able to enjoy the anchorages on the other side of the world to the full...
But that’s not all, as the company is working on a very up-market catamaran, which should be around 70 feet long... A boat designed to be sailed with a crew, and which will be able to offer out of the ordinary performance, but with generous volumes and no compromises from a comfort point of view.
