The Games in catamarans
The coming Olympic Games will see the return of sport catamarans, and the best racers are today preparing themselves in Nacra 17s, to qualify and have a chance of racing in Rio.
The latest meeting to date was the 2015 Miami Sailing World Cup, where the Italians, Vittorio Bissaro/Silvia Sicourise proved to be unbeatable, ahead of the English crew Ben Saxton/Nicola Groves and the French duo Billy Besson/Marie Riou. Note the good placing by Franck Cammas and Sophie de Turckheim, who finished 8th at this meeting, before winning the North American Championship at Clearwater in Florida, the following week.
The next meeting of the cream of Olympic racing will be at Hyères in France in the middle of April.
