A flying year for catamarans...
It’s now compulsory: to interest the crowds and therefore the sponsors, you have to fly onyour catamaran!
After the America’s Cup boats, the Extreme 40s are now also turning to foils. Exit the venerable Extreme 40s, catamarans which are nevertheless very spectacular, and welcome to the GC 32s, foil-equipped catamarans chosen by the circuit to renew its appeal. For this tenth season, the circuit will be stopping in eight towns, including (for the first time) Lisbon. As for the crews, we will once again find eight teams coming from both the America’s Cup and the Olympics, and there will be no fewer than 27 World titles, as many Europeans and 106 Nationals doing battle on the water. The racing will be hard fought, especially as the GC 32 is a very spectacular machine, and particularly suited to close racing.
