A new record for l'Hydroptère
L'Hydroptère is currently on stand-by in San Francisco, waiting for the ideal conditions to try and beat the record for crossing the Pacific, between Los Angeles and Honolulu.
But we can't say that the trimaran, skippered by Alain Thébault, is waiting peacefully. Just to keep occupied, l'Hydroptère has set a reference time in the mythical bay, with a run over one mile at an average of 37.5 knots. A time which is a long way short of the boat's record, which still stands at 50.17 knots over one mile.
