Louisiane 37 catamaran : the veteran
The separate net, which makes up the boat’s living area, centralizes the daytime and sailing activities, with the hulls preserving the privacy of the two double cabins. This arrangement, which was challenged by some, met with the favor of many others, as shown by this catamaran’s commercial success: over 90 units built until 1988.
Our new feature on tests of used boats starts with one of the bestsellers from the eighties: Louisiane 37 catamaran by Fountaine-Pajot. This cruising catamaran has really left her mark on her times and is today very popular as a used boat.
Life on board the Louisiane 37 catamaran :At the time, the Louisiane 37 catamaran offered a deck layout that was very different from what our British friends were doing. The net did not communicate with the hulls. This “French” school can also be seen in the Edel 33’ and 35’ range (which will soon be tested in this feature) and later in the first Outremer, etc.
