The Australian builder, Seawind, has just finished the 50th example of the 1160 series… a catamaran which was sent to California aboard a cargo ship, to its new home port and owner. A real success for the biggest catamaran builder in Australia, as the Seawind 1160 was only presented to the public in the middle of 2004, at the Sydney Boat Show.
Production of this catamaran is now well under way, and the company is putting out two boats a month, to give an annual production of 22 Seawind 1160s. This number could soon increase, as Seawind is building a new factory and has distributors in New Zealand, Hong Kong and Thailand…
