Babouche 2: they’re setting off again!
21 mai 2008
After sailing through the north-west passage without an engine aboard Babouche, Sébastien Roubinet, with Rodolphe André and aboard a new craft, wants to attack another Arctic route: to the North Pole!
A new challenge, which Sébastien and Rodolphe are ready to tackle in 2009… Departure from Alaska (Cape Barrow) and arrival in Spitzbergen, passing via the North Pole. To succeed in this new challenge, Sebastian has designed a new machine - a 16-foot/5-metre sailing catamaran / sledge / ice yacht, equipped with skis, whose construction has just started in Sète.
But before attacking the construction of the boat, a prototype was designed using 16-foot catamaran hulls, to test the functioning of the skis… These first tests were carried out at Angles, during the adventure festival.
