- It was to be expected: boat building was not going to avoid the lure of China for long… Robertson & Caine, the South African builder of the Leopard range of catamarans, has just announced a joint venture with the Chinese company, Flying Eagle. Based in Fuyang, the new boatyard should allow big savings in materials and manpower. The aim is to produce between 700 and 800 boats (sail and motor) in the next five years, between the Chinese yard and the one in South Africa…
