The Solo Maxi Banque Populaire IX trimaran promises to be a serious competitor in the Ultim class, as the architects (VPLP) have designed a boat on the limits of the class rules (32m long, 23m beam), equipped with foils and a canting mast, especially for singlehanded racing. A powerful trimaran which is heralded as being lighter than Banque Pop VII, despite being beamier, with a slimmer sail plan. For lovers of figures, Banque Pop IX weighs 14 tonnes, carries 890m² of sail downwind and is capable of flying in 15 knots of wind and more...

Maxi Solo Banque Populaire IX will be launched this summer and will take part in the 2017 Transat Jacques Vabre, the 2018 Rhum, then the Ultim round the world race in 2019.
