There are therefore finally six crews competing in this 'Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series’ – that’s the official name of the regattas which should lead to the final of the 35th America’s Cup in Bermuda in 2017. On the start line, we had the American title holder (Oracle Team USA) and five challengers: Artemis Racing (Sweden) - Emirates Team New Zealand (New Zealand) - Grouapama Team France - Land Rover BAR (UK) - Softbank Team Japan (Japan).
Of the three events planned in 2015, two have already been raced: Portsmouth, UK, in July and Göteborg, Sweden, at the end of August. The last event in 2015 should be taking place in Bermuda in the middle of next October.
After 6 legs raced (2 in England and 4 in Sweden), the overall classification shows three crews standing out from the rest (Team New Zealand, BAR and Team USA). But all this is clearly relative, as Team France nevertheless scored two good 3rd places, Artemis won a leg in Sweden, whilst Team Japan took a nice second place there... In short, everyone is performing well, and it would be clever person who could predict what is going to happen in the coming regattas. One thing is certain however - they will put on a great show!
