Forever Green? It’s Happening Right Now!

When we launched this Special Issue dedicated entirely to energy transition and environmental protection some three years ago now, we felt we were somewhat out on our own...
A few shipyards and marine equipment suppliers were there supporting us, but to be truthful, the boating industry for the main part was turning a deaf ear to the demands of its customers, who were increasingly calling for differently designed multihulls. As for the climate emergency, it was still a convenient excuse... and was readily swept under the carpet of green bashing.

Not so long ago, it seemed that only the introduction of stricter regulations on carbon and pollutant emissions would be able to move things forward.

Then, just a year ago, something clicked: One by one, the builders were delving deeper into hybrid engine testing. Electric options are finally appearing in their catalogs. Some multihulls—as you’ll see in our reviews—have even gone 100% electric. Today, virtually all the shipyards, in one way or another, have begun their Forever Green revolution: electric propulsion, of course, but also new materials and construction processes, solar energy production in factories — 2025 is truly the start date for Forever Green.

If the Multihulls World team has contributed to this awareness, even in a small way, then we’re delighted.
And we are also thrilled to have tested the hybrid formula for you for 24 hours... without resorting to the generator.

Enjoy reading – and watching!
