Called RefitX, the event is being launched by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF), owner of the show, which was founded in 1959 and has become the world's largest in-water boat show, with a particular focus on motor yachts, superyachts and equipment. RefitX will take place on October 27 and 28, 2027, at the Broward County Convention Center, during FLIBS, scheduled for October 27 to 31, 2027.
Over two days, RefitX will bring together shipyards, equipment manufacturers, designers, engineers, manufacturers and technology suppliers. An exhibition will be complemented by conferences and round-table discussions addressing the challenges of refitting: project management, new technologies and materials, shipyard modernization, recruitment and training, sustainability and supply chains.
The creation of this event reflects changes in the market: boats are becoming increasingly technically complex, while their Owners are looking to extend their service life, modernize onboard equipment, improve energy efficiency or rethink their layouts.
The choice of Fort Lauderdale is no coincidence: South Florida is one of the world's leading centers for refitting, repairs and marine services. A preview of RefitX will be offered during FLIBS 2026, from October 28 to November 1, ahead of its official launch the following year.
