Musto MPX Impact - New gear for the toughest conditions

To achieve this, both the jacket and salopettes use state-of-the-art D3O technology (already used for Special Forces combat helmets and suits made for Formula 1 and MotoGP drivers) developed in London by the D3O Lab. This development has led to the creation of tailor-made 3D protectors: the pads are ‘printed’ directly on a special fabric, which in turn is bonded to Gore-Tex fabric on the elbows and hips to cushion impacts on these joints. Flexible, lightweight and water-resistant, these pads have been coated with a laser-cut, abrasion-resistant film to offer ultimate protection on deck without compromising the breathability of the fabric. The 3D kneepads, meanwhile, are inserted into an inner pocket in the salopettes so they can be adjusted to the correct position.
To develop this innovative and technical product, Musto called on several ocean racers, including Frenchman Armel Le Cléac’h, skipper of the Ultim Banque Populaire XI, who has just completed the Arkea Ultim Challenge – Brest, finishing in 3rd place after 56 days 8 hours and 1 minute of racing. Musto MPX Impact GORE-TEX Pro Jacket
This jacket offers wind protection and optimum breathability. It includes a waterproof phone pouch on the forearm that has a touch sensitive window, so sailors can safely use the apps they need for sailing. Fully waterproof, even in the pockets thanks to YKK VISLON AquaGuard zippers, the jacket features reflective strips on the chest and hand pockets for improved visibility in the dark. In addition, the outer funnel neck collar protects against wind and spray, while the PU-coated inner collar can be adjusted for optimum comfort and protection.
