“We are currently at Fakarava in the Tuamotus, in French Polynesia. Over the last two years, we have spent months sailing in the Black Sea, the Mergui archipelago in Myanmar, the West Indies, the Venice lagoon, the Azores and the Canaries, Bora Bora, Barcelona, the Greek islands, through the Hongs in Thailand, and around Sardinia and Corsica. How were we able to do all that in two years? We spent the whole of these two sabbatical years aboard charter boats. Amongst the boats we chartered were a Lagoon 440, a Mumby 48, a Leopard 47, a Seawind 1160, a brilliant Wharram and our favorite, an Outremer 49. We also tried a 52’ monohull.
