Le Grand Pavois celebrates

A good age for a superb show, where multihulls will be more than ever in the place of honour, from 19th to 24th September 2012. 300 boats will be exhibited afloat (of the total of 750 boats presented), including at least forty or so catamarans...

In 1973, in the middle of the oil crisis, four pioneers from La Rochelle based boatyards took things in hand and formed the hard core of an independent professional association whose aim was to coordinate and promote the interests of the local nautical sector. They then created the Grand Pavois association, whose aim was to create a show afloat, where it would be possible to meet the managers of the boatbuilding companies and above all to test the boats at sea... The least we can say is that the four pioneers were right.
