At the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which took place from January 5 to 8 in Las Vegas, Mercury presented its Avator 7.5e. This small electric outboard with a very neat design is intended to propel a dinghy of less than 10 feet (3 meters) in length. The 7.5 in the name corresponds to a power of 0.75 kW measured at the propeller. The waterproof and removable 48 V battery has a capacity of 1 kWh, which means a range of one hour at full throttle. The data is displayed on the screen integrated into the front of the motor or on a smartphone. The battery can be charged at home or on board. Mercury also announced an Avator 20e and an Avator 35e. With powers this time comparable to 9 and 15 HP respectively, the manufacturer will be quickly positioning itself on the market for dinghies and tenders so essential to our stopovers…
