"We actually spend very little time in marinas," Christine explains. Their cruising lifestyle revolves around anchorages, where they can make the most of their self-sufficiency and freedom.
Although they're used to sailing as a couple, Thierry and Christine decided to bring additional crew aboard for their first Atlantic crossing. While looking for crewmates, they reached out to friends who had taken part in the Rallye des Îles du Soleil two years earlier. Their friends spoke so highly of the event's organization and friendly atmosphere that Thierry and Christine eventually decided to sign up themselves!
We met them in Fuerteventura, just a few hours before the start of this new adventure. And what about after the Atlantic crossing? There's no question of setting a schedule! "We're no longer working, so we have all the time in the world. We're going to stay in the Caribbean for as long as it takes to really get to know the islands," Christine explains.
French Polynesia is certainly on their wish list, but nothing has been decided yet. For now, Thierry and Christine prefer to let the people they meet and the places they discover shape the next stages of their journey. A philosophy perfectly suited to the bluewater cruising lifestyle!
