Ventio OpenSpace/Spirit

Dismantlable for Transport

This catamaran has no hard nacelle - the central area is fully protected by a large retractable canopy. The galley will be located aft of the mast bulkhead, along with a U-shaped deck saloon and a large 85 cm x 135 cm (33½ x 52”) table on a sliding base. The berths are located in the hulls. Ventio #1, equipped with a carbon mast and daggerboards, is a prototype currently undergoing optimization with high potential, especially in its Spirit version with a larger sail area. The builder offers an electric powertrain with twin 6 kW pods, 19.9 kWh of batteries, and 1.1 kWp of solar panels.

Xquisite 30 SportCat

Just for Fun!

Xquisite Yachts is used to building comfortable cruising catamarans, so this sporty model, with its completely stripped-back nacelle-cockpit, came as something of a surprise when it was launched in 2023. The program is therefore sporty day sailing, with option to stay overnight on board - only the hulls are fitted out. The Xquisite 30 Sportcat can be dismantled and transported by trailer. Extremely lightweight, it is particularly well suited to auxiliary propulsion provided by an electric outboard. The rotating mast and carbon crossbeams leave no doubt about the sporting ambitions of this catamaran. As an option, daggerboards can be fitted instead of the standard skeg keels.

HopYacht 30

A Version Without Sails, but Still Electric

The HopYacht we tested in Greece enthralled with a very simple concept: offering an easy-to-handle and economical multihull centred around a large double berth with, of course, unbeatable sea views. Slightly iconoclastic, this catamaran proved extremely easy to sail thanks to its large furling genoa. The builder is now offering an even more minimalist version, stripped of its rig entirely. However, the full electric setup has naturally been retained, providing a range of 8 hours at 4.2 knots (just over 30 nautical miles covered) with zero CO2 emissions and virtually no noise. Recharging relies on shore power and/or the 1,600 Wp solar panels.
The builder has also announced a new 36-foot model.

Builder: HopYacht
Length: 30’6” (9.3 m)
Beam: 11’3” (3.44 m)
Draft: 2’8” (0.82 m)
Displacement: ~ 6,600 lbs (3 t)
Powertrain: 2 x 6 kW
