Second-Hand

8 Pre-owned Multihulls from € 200,000 to € 2,300,000

The second-hand market in recreational boating, and in the world of multihulls in particular, is very buoyant, with four transactions involving pre-owned models for every one new boat sale worldwide. Given that there are around 20,000 cruising multihulls on our seas and oceans, and that each one is put up for sale on average every seven years (and for around six months, which is quite a long time to sell), this means that there are nearly 1,500 multihulls on offer... That would make for a great boat show, wouldn’t it? Well, the “Occasions du Multicoques et du Refit” event, held in the South of France back in October, brought together 40 models. Among them, we have chosen 8 to present to you here. From the least expensive to the most expensive, we invite you to discover the world of second-hand multihulls!

Maryland 37: A Compact and Affordable Adventurer

The Maryland 37 was the very first powercat built by Fountaine Pajot. Robust and reasonably powered, this vessel belongs to the trawler family and is perfectly suited to coastal and semi-offshore cruising.
What if 37 feet and two engines were enough for amazing adventures?<br/>If you’re not convinced, take a look at this Maryland 37.

The model we are presenting here can claim three records: it is the only powercat, it is the least expensive, and it is the oldest! Indeed, the Maryland 37 we are discovering was built in 2004. This was the first power catamaran to be built by Fountaine Pajot - the series began in 1998. At the time, Jean-François Fountaine, co-founder of the shipyard, explained that it was “Above all, a cruising boat, not a speedboat. We wanted to create a vessel that was comfortable to live on.” In fact, the motors were only 75HP standard (with an option of up to 140 HP), which puts the Maryland firmly in the trawler family. Although the deck layout betrays its age a little, the cockpit remains very attractive with its imposing dashboard, and the interior can comfortably accommodate six people, featuring an impressive galley, opposite a saloon where there is easily enough room for the entire crew to eat. In terms of sleeping accommodation, you’ll find an owner’s cabin on the starboard side with a separate shower and toilet, and two cabins and a toilet area to port. Outside, the cockpit is a little small in terms of surface area but is well protected. On the foredeck, there’s a great sunbathing area, but the best place is undoubtedly on the flybridge, which is perfectly designed for panoramic sailing while enjoying the company of your guests. With a draft of 3 feet (1 meter), good comfort under way, and a good level of self-sufficiency in all respects, this little motorized adventurer could well offer you some wonderful vacations in the sun.

Bali 4.0 : An Excellent Basis for a Makeover

Launched back in 2015, the 4.0 remained for a long time the smallest boat in the Bali range... yet this catamaran proves to be a real “boundary-pusher”: the saloon is set aft thanks to the up-and-over door, opening up the 8-person dining area to the outside, while the opening windows (front and side) give you the impression you’re on a much larger multihull. With a forward cockpit, aft platform, and flybridge, comfort is optimal.
It’s rare to find a Bali 4.0 that hasn’t been through the tough conditions of charter use, and that makes all the difference!
