LEOPARD 40 POWERCAT

A third powercat in the Leopard range

NEW
Following the launch of two large models - the 53 and 46PC - and the retirement of the very successful 43PC, it came as no surprise to discover a new compact model from Robertson & Caine, the 40PC. In terms of design, his powercat blends perfectly into the new range with very long hull windows and an immense flybridge. It features an imposing panoramic coachroof with a beautiful L-shaped galley and, despite being shorter in length, manages to house great cabins all equipped with island beds and bathrooms. But the real plus compared to the 43PC? Aboard this model, there’s a proper interior helm station.
As for the hulls, architect Alexander Simonis used CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software to optimize the longitudinal balance, a task that is necessarily more difficult with shorter hulls. Launch of hull #1 is scheduled for the end of the year in Cape Town, South Africa. The manufacturer anticipates making a world preview in February 2023 at the Miami International Boat Show, followed by a European presentation at the International Multihull Show in La Grande Motte in April.

GEMINI FREESTYLE 399 POWER

Ideal day-boat

True to the philosophy of all their models, Gemini have kept the beam of their powercat low - less dockspace required and the possibility of using most inland waterways. The 399 Power is a clever evolution of the Freestyle 37: with its center console, the Freestyle features an astonishing deck space. The hulls have evolved to facilitate planing, and the keels are reduced to limit draught. Two modest Suzuki DF90A outboards allow a cruising speed of 15 knots and 22.5 knots at full throttle.

BALI CATSPACE MY

Integral deck and pivoting door

NEW
The Catspace MY prototype was first splashed in 2021, but the shipyard is still keen to refine the interior finish and engine performance before an official launch. This new model is pretty close in size to her bigger sistership, the 4.3 MY. But look a little deeper and you’ll see this powercat has less volume – 758 sq ft (70.4 m²) of usable space as opposed to 894 sq ft (83.1 m²) for the 4.3 – and is noticeably cheaper. The platform is based on the sailing version but with completely redesigned hulls, and then topped with an imposing - but ...
