Digital Yacht will be presenting the GPS160, a new high-performance position receiver, at the Grand Pavois boat show (in La Rochelle, France). The GPS160 uses GPS, Galileo and Glonass satellite positioning systems (American, European and Russian respectively) to achieve exceptional reliability and positioning accuracy - less than 1 meter (3’).

TriNav technology allows all three systems to be used simultaneously for navigation. The device can also be programmed for a variety of modes such as single GNSS operation (eg. Galileo only) as well as output configurations such as update rate, NMEA sentence structure, etc.

The GPS160 is available with a NMEA 0183 output (4800, 38400 or 115200 baud rate) and a USB output for PC, MAC and Linux. For NMEA 2000 systems, a package is available with iKonvert allowing easy installation to the NMEA 2000 network without the need for a cumbersome and too short NMEA 2000 cable. SeaTalk & Wi-Fi versions of the GPS160 are also available. The GPS160 also supports a Man Overboard MOB function.

When this function is enabled, GPS160 transmits a Man Overboard AIS alert on the NMEA output that can be interfaced with a chart plotter to broadcast and display the Man Overboard alert on the plotter.
