And then there were six! To mark its 40th anniversary, the World Cruising Club is launching a new, sixth rally. This time it takes place in the Baltic Sea: the ARC Baltic.
The event is open to sailboats and motorboats, but please note that the fleet is limited to a maximum of 25 boats that are between 27 and 50 feet. Larger yachts and multihulls are welcome if space allows. So the ARC Baltic will be ideal for Corsair, Dragonfly and Tricat folding trimarans – owners, take note! The first edition will set sail from Kiel, Germany, on July 3, covering nearly 1,000 miles and visiting five countries. Planned stops include Stralsund (Germany), Bornholm (Denmark), Gotland (Sweden), Tallinn (Estonia), Helsinki (Finland), the Åland Islands, and the Stockholm archipelago, ending in Bullandö, Sweden, on July 31, 2026. With the longest passage being only 200 nautical miles, from Bornholm to Gotland, this rally is ideal even for boaters who might not yet be very experienced. According to Paul Tetlow, CEO of the World Cruising Club, “Sailing in the Baltic Sea offers an unforgettable mix of adventure, culture and unspoiled scenery. With its sheltered waters, quiet anchorages and well-equipped marinas, the region is ideal both for experienced cruisers and those developing their offshore sailing skills.”
