Built entirely in aluminum in Antalya, Turkey, this powercat adopts the same principles as the builder’s larger expedition yachts: autonomy, considerable storage capacity, crew protection and the ability to spend long periods away from marinas. Hull #1, which we discovered in Cannes, takes this approach even further, with a fully enclosed flybridge - an open version is standard - and instrumentation worthy of a genuine ship.

Aft, the large movable platform is one of the powercat’s clever features. At main-deck level, it significantly extends the cockpit; lowered to the level of the aft platforms, it creates a vast swim platform and provides easier access to the toy garage. The latter can accommodate paddleboards and other watersports equipment and even has its own technical facilities. On the flybridge, the tender is handled by a crane capable of launching it either aft or to port.

Inside, it is above all the feeling of space that stands out. A large, extensively equipped galley, vast windows, an immense saloon and a forward cockpit provide numerous living areas. But the BC60 does not forget its expedition program: a vast technical and storage area between the hulls extends over much of the boat, while the engine rooms are heavily insulated to limit noise and vibration in the cabins. Storage is omnipresent, both in the communal areas and in the cabins and laundry room - a real advantage when considering several weeks away from any assistance.

This first unit features an Owner’s suite, two guest cabins, a crew cabin and a laundry room, but Bering offers layouts with four to six cabins. The main suite occupies a large part of the port hull, with a king-size bed, large walk-in closet and a particularly generous bathroom whose shower can even double as a hammam. As for the enclosed flybridge on hull #1, it is almost an additional apartment in itself: a bar, refrigerator, bathroom, convertible bench seat and immense helm station all benefit from an almost panoramic view.
