Until now, the FP51 was offered with a Lounge Deck and an offset helm station to starboard, aft of the sail-handling station. Future Owners will now have a choice between this arrangement and a full flybridge, with the helm station located on the upper deck.
Inspired by the FP55's layout, this new space is clearly divided into two areas: forward, the helm station and sail-handling controls; aft, an outdoor lounge with bench seating, a table and a relaxation area with facing seats. The entire flybridge can be accessed from both port and starboard, while an optional hardtop provides shade from the sun. An electric genoa furler comes as standard.
Below decks, there are no major changes: the FP51 FLY retains the existing model's accommodations, with three layouts offering four, five or six cabins. Both versions nevertheless benefit from a few upgrades, including a built-in 67 US gal (253 l) refrigerator, a new mounting arrangement for the navigation instruments and several refinements to the saloon. The ODSea+ energy system is also available as an option.
This dual-configuration strategy isn't entirely new. Lagoon had already explored a similar approach with its 52, but in reverse: initially offered as a Flybridge version, the catamaran was subsequently introduced in a SporTop configuration, with a lower helm station.
With the FP51 FLY, Fountaine Pajot is making a layout previously reserved for larger models available on a smaller catamaran, without abandoning the Lounge Deck configuration favored by sailing enthusiasts.
The FP51 FLY is scheduled to make its world premiere at the Fountaine Pajot Open Days 2027 in La Rochelle, before appearing at the fall boat shows.
