The team at Knysna Yacht Company is preparing to unveil its brand-new 550 to the public for the first time at the Annapolis Sailboat Show, taking place from October 15 to 18.
This world premiere will mark an important milestone for the South African builder, which has earned a reputation for producing robust, long-range cruising catamarans in limited series.
Designed by VDS Marine Design, the Knysna 550 features much more contemporary styling than the 500 SE, notably thanks to its reverse bows. Highlights include a protected raised helm station and a substantial payload capacity. Available in either Sky Lounge or Solar Explorer versions - with the latter featuring hybrid propulsion - the 550 also emphasizes extensive interior customization, allowing owners to tailor the layout to their specific cruising needs and lifestyle.
