Sailors from the good old days of single-hulled leisure craft may not like it, but today, comfort is king on board, and it’s the size of the saloon, the flybridge and, of course, the owner’s cabin that win the day.
The Omaya 50 is one of these newcomers to the market, selling not only living space - in this case 1,615 square feet (150 square meters) - but also luxury, as evidenced by the first renderings of the interior. The overall design is not to be outdone, featuring rather clean lines. The large saloon can accommodate 10 people at table - in either dining or coffee configuration. The hulls can house a huge Owner’s suite to port and two guest cabins to starboard, or four cabins. The forepeaks can be customized according to the captain’s wishes. On deck, there are two cockpits connected via side-decks or through the nacelle’s forward door. A large aft platform completes the sugarscoops. The flybridge is accessible via two staircases.
The Omaya 50’s program is ideally suited to a week’s sailing from anchorage to anchorage, as evidenced by its relatively small diesel capacity of 710 to 1,100 liters (187 to 290 US gallons), depending on the powertrain chosen, compared with the 2,130 l (562 US gal) of the Leopard 53 PC and the 3,000 or optionally 4,000 liters (792/1,056 US gal) of the Aventura 50 MY.
The first Omaya 50 is set to splash this summer, with the Bulgarian Omaya Yachts brand, launched by the Elica Group, soon to be joined by other models.
