With the M7, the Prestige range now includes three power catamarans. The model we got to check out in Monfalcone, Italy, focuses on sobriety, with reduced fuel consumption, a maximum speed limited to 20 knots, and a respectable range of 1,330 nautical miles at 8 knots.
The hulls have been optimized for seakindliness - and thus safety and comfort in all conditions. If you opt for the Silent Mode Package, this allows zero carbon emissions for 12 hours, without sacrificing any of the usual comfort.
Compared to the M48 and M8, there have been design improvements, with a few new modern touches, such as the wider bulwark, forward, the more pronounced inverted deck sheer near the cockpit, the semi-transparent (though still structural) coachroof pillar set apart from the superstructure, and a more assertive selection of colors.
Aboard the M7, there are three particularly appealing innovations: the port-side companionway door leads directly to the side-deck, but also to the flybridge staircase, which is presented “back-to-front” compared to conventional configurations. This arrangement makes the flybridge accessible from both the saloon and the side-deck, without wasting space, while protecting those on board as they move around.
