Rallye des Îles du Soleil

Heading for Marie-Galante for the 8th Edition!

The Rallye des Îles du Soleil is preparing to set off on its eighth edition. Organized since 2017 by Grand Pavois Organisation (GPO), this transatlantic rally, open to monohulls and multihulls over 33 feet (10 m) - with multihulls accounting for 9 of the 21 sailboats entered - will once again link the Canary Islands to Guadeloupe via Cape Verde.

The crews will gather from October 24 at Marina Jandia, in southern Fuerteventura, ahead of the scheduled start on October 30 at 11 am local time. The first leg will cover 900 miles to Mindelo, on the island of São Vicente, before the fleet heads back out to sea on November 11 for the 2,130 miles separating Cape Verde from Marie-Galante.

The first arrivals are expected from November 23 in Saint-Louis Bay. A loyal partner of the rally since its creation, Marie-Galante will thus welcome the fleet for the eighth time.

On the organizational side, participants will notably benefit from pre-departure safety inspections, daily weather bulletins and satellite tracking. Fountaine Pajot is among the partner builders for this edition.
