Fire Hits the Electric Propulsion Specialist

TEMO, the French specialist in lightweight electric propulsion systems, has been hit by a major fire at its headquarters in Vannes on August 8.

The blaze, which reportedly started in an area where lithium batteries were stored, required the intervention of around 60 firefighters and led to the precautionary evacuation of several neighboring buildings, including a hotel and a fitness center. Fortunately, no one was injured, and air quality monitoring confirmed there was no risk to the local population.

At this stage, it is difficult to assess the extent of the damage in the short or medium term, or the consequences for production or deliveries. Having established itself in just a few years as a leading manufacturer of portable electric outboards for tenders, sailboats and small multihulls, the company must now assess the consequences of the incident on its operations.

We featured TEMO in our Forever Green No. 26 special edition, highlighting the company's ambitions and its innovative electric propulsion solutions designed to support the marine industry's energy transition.

The entire Multihulls World and Multicoques Mag team extends its support to everyone at TEMO and wishes them a swift return to normal operations.
