Fire Hits the Electric Propulsion Specialist

TEMO, the French specialist in lightweight electric propulsion systems, has been hit by a major fire at its headquarters in Vannes on August 8.

The fire, which is believed to have started in the prototyping and repair workshop, required the intervention of around 60 firefighters and led to the precautionary evacuation of several neighboring buildings, including a hotel and a gym. No injuries were reported, and tests carried out at the scene found no risk to the local population.

In just a few years, the company has become a major player in portable electric motors for tenders, sailboats and small multihulls, and will now have to assess the impact of the fire on its operations.

We featured TEMO in our Forever Green No. 26 special edition, highlighting the company's ambitions and its innovative electric propulsion solutions designed to support the marine industry's energy transition.

The entire Multihulls World and Multicoques Mag team extends its support to everyone at TEMO and wishes them a swift return to normal operations.
