Atipik - A Season in Greece with Meltemi Winds and Unforgettable Experiences!

From the iconic Cyclades to the unspoiled Sporades, from the Gulf of Corinth to the Saronic Islands, the seven months Sabine and William spent in Greece offered them much more than just scenery: intense emotions, a journey rich in discoveries, and the fulfillment of a childhood dream.

219 days on the water, 3,769 nautical miles. The splendor of sunsets, the vibrant colors of the villages, sublime panoramas of pine trees… Greece surprised us with its diversity. Our travel vlog on YouTube captures these moments.
From our very first voyages, the meltemi threw our plans into disarray: from uncomfortable anchorages to the arrival of Storm Inès, this violent north wind forced us to constantly modify our itinerary. Yet the Cyclades archipelago, with its postcard-perfect scenery, never ceased to amaze us: Mykonos and the windmills of its “Little Venice”, Delos, the center of the ancient Greek world, Amorgos and the wreck from the film The Big Blue, Santorini and its magnificent caldera... Our favorite? Milos! This volcanic island captivated us as much with its picturesque coastline and rock formations as with its colorful villages.
The meltemi, once again, forced us to wait several days in Andros. This stopover in a port of refuge surprised us with its unique lighthouse straight out of a fairy tale and its authentic atmosphere, halfway between the Cyclades and the Sporades. We headed north toward the lush Sporades, where calm finally reigned. We discovered the island of Euboea, the Petalis Islands, and the Chalkis Bridge, which opens only at night for boats to pass.
Back south to the Saronic Islands: Aegina, the island of pistachios; Hydra, where donkeys provide transportation; Moni, the island of deer; Poros, separated from the Peloponnese by a 1,300-foot-wide (400-meter) channel… What an exhilarating passage!
We transited the Corinth Canal: Since childhood, this legendary passage has been close to William’s heart. “Impressive” doesn’t begin to describe the moment when Atipik glided through this 4-mile (6-kilometer) stone corridor flanked by 260-foot (80 m) high cliffs.
