Kallima: for a new departure in a Catana 47.

“After three years spent in the Atlantic aboard our Catana 42, we took possession of our new boat at the beginning of June. There was no question of abandoning catamarans, of course, and we remained faithful to Catana, but moved up to a 47-footer fresh out of the yard, which we officially named during the Multihulls Boat Show in La Grande Motte. A boat whose interior has been completely redesigned, which has allowed us to add our contribution to the operation! The work obviously took longer than planned, and until our departure for the Balearics at the beginning of June, we had only tested our new Kallima during the delivery trip to La Grande Motte. What a pleasure the return trip was, with the 70 miles being swallowed up at a permanent 9-10 knots. And the slightly capricious wind obliged us to carry out numerous maneuvers, to test the machine and the kilometers of ‘string’ aboard. We now can’t wait to really set off to reach the Pacific, where we have kept some very good memories from our first big voyage almost 30 years ago, in a 35-foot monohull. A different time!”
