Millikan Boats made a big impression at the Cannes boat show back in 2024 with its M.9, a prototype 100% electric-solar catamaran dayboat that required absolutely no fuel. A year later, the young brand returned to Cannes and more recently to the new “Nice Boating Tomorrow” show with a fully developed (i.e. market-ready) version, the M.10. Following our test report on the M.9, published in this same Special Edition this time last year, we wanted to find out whether the new M.10 truly has what it takes to establish itself as one of the powercats of tomorrow…

Ever since the M.9, a compact, 100% electric powercat, was first presented, the public was won over by the soundness of the Millikan concept devised by Philippe Raynaud, founder of the new Normandy-based brand eager to make a name for itself in the field of sustainable recreational boating. The M.9 was presented as a recreational platform with a bowrider deck layout designed for day trips or weekend getaways along the coast. This compact powercat was completely self-sufficient in terms of energy thanks to a very large array of solar panels powering its electric motors. Simple, efficient, and refined through extensive development, the M.9 ultimately met the essentials of our needs at sea - nothing more. Despite its handcrafted finish and rough-hewn design, the M.9 generated more than just interest, as the first expressions of intent to purchase began to emerge. Philippe could have stopped there… but in his view, a prototype is meant to iron out the creases… To fulfill his orders, the head of Millikan Boats, drawing on feedback from boat shows, developed a pre-production version in lin...
