An Evolution Driven by OwnersThree years after the launch of the M8, Prestige Yachts has updated its flagship powercat with an EVO version that doesn’t radically change the original concept, but which has refined every detail. New interior layouts, an enlarged flybridge, a completely redesigned owner’s suite, MAN engines, and Silent Mode: this evolution above all illustrates the maturity of a model already well-established in the market.

Three years is an absolute eternity in some sectors of the marine industry, but hardly anything in the lifespan of a sixty-five-foot (twenty-meter) powercat. Yet Prestige Yachts wasn’t going to wait for a new generation to revamp its flagship. The first M8s are now sailing at all latitudes, and their owners have logged enough miles to identify areas for further improvement. “We’ve learned a great deal from the first units we delivered,” summarizes Andrea Cragnotti, head of large-yacht sales, as he welcomes us to Monfalcone, the Italian shipyard where the Beneteau Group’s most prestigious yachts are built. “The EVO is a direct result of their experience.”
The result, therefore, is not merely a facelift intended to revive the model’s commercial success. Prestige has redesigned the layout, reconfi- gured several living spaces, upgraded the Owner’s Suite, modernized the exterior styling, and replaced the 600 hp Volvo D8 engines with new MAN i6 motors producing 730 hp.
