If you’re an astronomy fan, you’ll no doubt be familiar with Unistellar, as this company launched the world’s first smart, connected telescope back in 2017. Now, the brand is extending its expertise to the field of observation with Envision augmented binoculars.
Developed in partnership with Nikon, these smart binoculars incorporate high-quality optics and advanced augmented reality functionalities, which instantly deliver contextual information, ashore and in the sky. When hiking, they can read even the most complex terrain, identify trails or landmarks. For boating use, they help you identify notable landmarks or different parts of the coastline. When stargazing, they reveal the jewels of the night sky.
With over 200,000 recognized stars, users can read the sky like an astronomer.
Envision smart binoculars connect to a smartphone via a dedicated app for instant access to a comprehensive database of maps and contextual information. This information appears directly in the field of vision, day or night. Several modes are available:
- Smart Scouting Mode: users get contextual information depending on the nature of their observations. This gives the impression of having a 3D map superimposed in the field of vision. Observation is enriched by information revealing landmarks, water sources, trails, refuges and other points of interest directly in the field of view.
- Guided Navigation Mode: the app guides users to one or more pre-selected points of interest with vectors appearing directly in the field of view.
- Shareable Target-Lock Mode: this feature allows you to lock a target in the field of view.
- Advanced Compass Mode: this mode allows real-time display of altitude and azimuth in the line of sight.
- Disconnected Mode: users can simply enjoy a pair of classic high-quality optical binoculars and deactivate the augmented reality functions.
