The Multihulls World team was very much present over the weekend of January 16-17 for the opening of boot Düsseldorf. Are we witnessing the comeback of the indoor boating world’s “grand mass” after two subdued editions (2024 and 2025)?
This first weekend certainly felt very convincing, both in terms of exhibitors and visitors. All it took was a look at the aisles - where it was sometimes difficult to move around - and even more so to reach the displayed boats and their platforms.
1,500 exhibitors, 16 halls, 200,000 expected visitors: the figures for the German show are dizzying. Yet multihulls still remain relatively discreet there, especially on the sailing side, despite a few notable and much-anticipated appearances such as the Astus 26.5, the Dragonfly 36, the Excess 13, the Lagoon 38, and the Bali Catsmart.
Power multihull players seem more active. We met Aquila Boats’ director, Alain Raas - exhibiting at boot for the first time - to take a look beneath the hull of the new Aquila 42 Coupe at the Hydro Glide Foil.
Discussions with Yann Masselot, Director of Brands and Communication for the Beneteau Group’s Boating division, helped shed light on the TH33 and TH38 moving under the Jeanneau flag.
At the Catana Group stand, we discovered the new deck-layout design for the Yot and the Seaty - this motor catamaran/home may well embody new uses, at the crossroads of boating, work, and living.
Our visit to the show was even crowned by a World Premiere: the Lasai 32 KS. Let’s hope these multihull new releases will be even more numerous in 2027!
