NEW 2017 HH66

Presented at the Cannes Boat Show, its athletic look and the natural class suggested by its handsome silhouette and carbon hull didn’t go unnoticed. An all-carbon construction, techniques borrowed from the aerospace industry, aided by precision electronic systems all serve this Morrelli & Melvin-designed boat, whose speed polar diagrams will give you vertigo. The ‘haute couture’ of the nautical world. As an example, each daggerboard costs $200,000, and we won’t mention the carbon mast. The interior is in tune, everything is curved, ‘à la carte’, and nothing is too beautiful. So you don’t have to choose between speed, comfort and aesthetics.

NEW 2017 GUNBOAT 68

After the takeover of the mythical name by ‘Grand Large Yachting’ this summer, we haven’t had to wait long to be informed of a new 68-footer, originally announced as a 65’. The 62’s cruiser/racer concept has here been re-launched, but on a bigger scale, with 4 or 5 cabins + crew quarters. We don’t yet have the exact specifications, but all the ingredients for a magic potion are present: sharp lines, hull and nacelle in carbon/epoxy and pre-impregnated in the stressed areas, an unladen weight of 17 tonnes and the possibility of removing 1 tonne of accommodation in the racing version. A maximum laden weight of 21 tonnes, to make things even better. The design team, consisting of VPLP, Wetzels Brown Partners, Patrick le Quément and Christophe Chedal-Anglay, promises a good vintage... Patience…

TAG 60

It surprised everyone when it came out in 2013, with a saloon which extends into the aft cockpit, but is quite open thanks to its retractable glazed areas. It is nonetheless an incredible machine, capable of out of the ordinary performance for an ultra-comfortable catamaran. Numerous innovations and good matching of the deck plan and the hydraulics allow it to be maneuvered with two fingers from the side helm positions. During a test, we sailed at over 10 knots in 5 knots of true wind – exciting. As for strong breezes, have a look at the photo! Fortunately it is equipped with effective load sensors.
