Day 1 Shuttle

Sailing as the Primary Source of Propulsion

Chantier de l’Arsenal has long been involved in building more environmentally friendly multihulls; its new shipyard, unveiled a few months ago, is itself constructed in wood and even generates energy through its solar panels. As for the multihulls, they are built using the One Shape Process with 100% recycled PET foam. So, what’s new with the Day 1 Shuttle?

This lightweight and robust passenger transport catamaran claims sailing as its primary means of propulsion, aiming to be more cost-effective for operators by reducing fuel consumption by a factor of ten compared to a conventionally powered shuttle - without compromising reliability and while drastically cutting carbon emissions.

In its standard configuration, the Day 1 Shuttle is equipped with a 165 m² square-top mainsail, a 105 m² solent, and a 40 m² staysail, ensuring strong performance in light to moderate breeze conditions. The catamaran features a central wheelhouse, providing the Captain with optimal visibility over the water. Its high freeboard ensures safety and protection for up to 185 passengers on board. While luggage storage and bicycle racks are fitted as standard at the stern, the Day 1 Shuttle can be custom-configured to meet specific requirements.
