Nautitech Catamarans, based in Rochefort, France, has announced that it has entered judicial reorganization proceedings, a legal framework that the company says is intended to ensure business continuity while seeking a new investor or buyer.
According to the builder, production, deliveries and after-sales service will continue as normal, with an order book providing production visibility through summer 2027, depending on the model.
The announcement comes only a few months after the commercial launch of the Nautitech 41 Type S (see our full review in Multihulls World #209). The shipyard reports that the first four boats were delivered before the summer shutdown and that the promotional tour will continue in September, with events scheduled in Southampton, Saint-Tropez and La Rochelle.
The strong market reception enjoyed by the 41 Type S naturally offers some hope for the brand's future. Completing - and renewing - the range after the 44 Open and 48 Open, the new model appears to meet the expectations of owners looking for a catamaran that delivers a more engaging sailing experience than its main competitors in the 40-42-foot segment.
That said, as is often the case with this type of legal procedure, the situation remains delicate. While judicial reorganization provides a framework to protect the company and organize its recovery, it also tends to place suppliers, subcontractors and business partners in a vulnerable position, as some may face frozen receivables or suspended deliveries until the situation is clarified. The challenge over the coming months will therefore be twofold: to confirm the commercial success of the new 41 Type S while securing the wider network of companies that supports Nautitech.
