The Loopia 290 Moves into Production

Presented in recent months as a project, the Loopia 290 is now entering a much more concrete phase: Sea Loop Marine has announced that construction of the first boat is underway, while the Vendée-based builder is preparing to move into its own production facility in Les Sables-d’Olonne. This is an important step for the young company, which aims to produce 60 units of its electric catamaran by 2029.

Designed by Marc Lombard Design Group, the Loopia 290 is a fully electric 29-foot catamaran equipped with two 40 kW motors powered by a 92 kWh battery. Sea Loop Marine also states that 70% recycled materials are used in its construction. Developed in partnership with APF France Handicap Vendée, the project also places considerable emphasis on accessibility aboard.

The builder will take advantage of the Grand Pavois de La Rochelle, from September 22 to 27, to present the Loopia 290 on the EDF stand, as well as a new version of the catamaran, whose specifications have yet to be revealed. Sea Loop Marine has also promised to announce a “strategic partnership” during a dedicated press conference. This will undoubtedly give us another opportunity very soon to talk about this newcomer to the small world of electric multihulls.
