Two Oceans Marine Manufacturing is one of world’s few builders of large custom multihulls. Founded in 1989, the Cape Town-based company specializes in the construction of power and sailing catamarans ranging from 60 to 150 feet in length. The recently-launched, luxury Two Oceans 850E was designed by Du Toit Yacht Design.

This is the 13th large custom catamaran from this builder/architect pairing in the last eight years. The 850E is built in PVC/glass/epoxy foam sandwich with carbon reinforcements. The catamaran precisely meets the owner's specifications: at 10 feet (3 meters), the hulls are beamy enough to accommodate berths set athwartships in large cabins.

The interior layout, furniture design, decor and finishing were all undertaken in consultation with the owner.

The main engines, a pair of 610 HP Cummins diesels, provide an economical cruising speed of 10 knots for long distance cruising – the range is in excess of 3,500 miles. The bridgedeck clearance is 4 feet (1.20 m), ensuring excellent performance in rough seas. Maximum speed is 22 knots.
