We were already familiar with Uber Boat river shuttles operating on the Thames. Attractive as well as practical (bookings can be made through the app), this mode of transport has become firmly established in London.

But the American multinational - which has already expanded into new areas with Uber Eats since its beginnings in ride-hailing - is now going a step further on the water by extending its Uber Boat offering to recreational boat rentals. Launching this summer in Croatia, Spain, France, Italy and Portugal, the service is based on a partnership with Click & Boat. The agreement gives users access to a fleet of 50,000 boats, although all sea outings offered will be supervised by professional skippers.
