The concept is nothing new: back in April 2021, Voodoo Yachts launched its first XF60, named Playground. With this 59'9" (18.20 m) model, the New Zealand builder manages to combine exceptional performance, offshore range and luxurious accommodations. The secret? Asymmetric planing hulls combined with foil assistance to reduce drag and improve propulsion efficiency. The result: with twin 850 hp engines, the builder claims cruising speeds of up to 40 knots and a top speed of 50 knots!
The claimed range is 1,100 nautical miles at 30 knots, increasing to 2,500 nautical miles when slowing down to 8 knots. That's enough to consider fast passages, particularly between New Zealand and Australia or Fiji.
On board, the 20'8" (6.30 m) beam provides room for a spacious panoramic saloon, organized around two lounge areas and an open galley. The helm station is integrated into this welcoming space, allowing the Captain to remain part of life on board.
Aft, the cockpit features a sheltered dining area, while a hydraulic platform makes launching the tender and enjoying watersports easier. The exploration-oriented design extends to the available equipment, including an ice maker for fishing, a diving compressor and fishing rod storage. Finally, the cabins can be customized to suit the Owner's preferences.
