Three Capes Down for Guirec!

After Cape Horn and Cape Leeuwin, the Cape of Good Hope has now been rounded! Guirec Soudée has just rounded the third legendary cape of his voyage.

For the solo skipper, who has already logged nearly 73 days at sea non-stop aboard his trimaran MACSF, a race against time has begun in the Atlantic Ocean. While the skipper has a comfortable 19-day lead over Jean-Luc Van Den Heede's time, set aboard his aluminum monohull Adrien, he needs to get away from the coast as quickly as possible, into the wind, in order to escape northward when the main storm system catches up with him. "It's going to be a bit rough, that's for sure, but hey, I've seen worse, and a Cape is something you earn!" he commented.

On the technical side, Guirec has to contend with a starboard rudder damaged in the Indian Ocean by a fishing net.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming Guirec to Brest at the end of March!
