It took four years of development for the Whisper project to finally become a reality. Presented as a world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival, hull #1 even grew along the way: initially designed as a 50-footer, the powercat gained extra length at the aft platform at the request of its Owner and now measures 52 feet… before growing to 54 feet for future units.

On board, it is undoubtedly the main living area that makes the greatest impression. The vast aft cockpit can remain completely open or be enclosed thanks to large sliding side windows and, above all, an aft window that raises electrically. Once everything is closed, the cockpit, U-shaped galley and immense saloon form a single interior space, while retaining the dining table aft. It is a particularly convincing layout and partly explains the feeling of volume offered by the main deck. Wood, marble, leather and linen also contribute to the luxurious atmosphere.
Outside, the large hydraulic platform serves as both a swim platform and tender support, while a forward cockpit and immense flybridge provide multiple relaxation areas. The latter seems almost oversized for a 52-foot catamaran; however, we found access to it a little steep, while its layout still slightly encroaches on the Owner’s cabin: two points that could evolve.
For propulsion, the Whisper uses two 100 kW electric motors powered by 240 kWh of batteries. Two 35 kW generators take over for longer passages. To reach Cannes from Fano, Italy, the 52 reportedly sailed for twelve days at an average speed of around 7 knots, consuming approximately 106 US gal (400 l) of fuel. A sea trial is already scheduled in Antibes.
