For years, the Dutch company Ratio Electric has established itself as one of the European leaders in shore power, with CEE-certified marine outlets and plugs, waterproof connectors, and complete kits widely used by shipyards, ports, and boat owners.
Their equipment is used in a significant proportion of dockside facilities, often without anyone noticing - because it both works and ages well. Ratio Electric’s real signature is its ability to offer a practical, robust system designed to withstand the rigors of the marine environment.
The manufacturer’s expertise is now evident in its latest product, the io7 Marina Charger, presented at Metstrade. It’s a compact terminal designed for intensive dockside use. The housing is simple, and the materials are resistant to UV rays, salt, and knocks. The connectors are, of course, protected. There’s nothing ostentatious about it, but its design is consistent with what marina operators expect: reliability, simplicity, resistance, and durability.
The strength of the io7 lies in its dual equipment: a marine CEE plug, essential for the vast majority of boats, coexists with a Type 2 plug, which has become the automotive standard and is now found on hybrid or fully electric multihulls.
This combination allows ports, marinas, and private facilities to meet a variety of needs with a single device, without needing multiple models or complicated maintenance. This is a strong point for marina managers faced with increasing electricity consumption, particularly on highly equipped multihulls.
