Caribbean Multihull Challenge Race and Rally 2026

A One-design Trimaran with Real Power…

The Diam 24, which supported the Tour Voile from 2015 to 2021, has established itself as an attractive yet accessible class – this trimaran was actually designed in 2010 specifically for this very open program, explains Vianney Ancelin, the project leader.

At just 7.25 meters long, a displacement limited to 520 kg, and no foils, we're dealing with a very simple multihull, but… a very efficient one nonetheless, easily exceeding 20 knots.

Today, more than 130 boats are sailing all over the world, and one of the most active fleets is based in Saint Martin – in Philipsburg, to be precise. It was here that the Caribbean Multihull Challenge organized some spectacular inshore races for the third day of the competition. With a steady 20-knot trade wind, all eight crews reefed their sails – which didn't prevent a capsize in the very first race. The safety dinghies righted the trimaran thanks to Vianney's advice – no damage to report, and the Diam 24 was back on track for the second race!
